Floral + Watercolor workshop
Floral + Watercolor workshop
Flower arranging, intro to watercolors
TBD / Black Bird Bookstore (outdoor backyard).
For the love of the bud vase! My favorite type of vase - I love how it is small enough to place anywhere - on your nightstand, on your bathroom counter, on your kitchen counter, on your desk, at the dining table, and the list goes on. I've enjoyed going to my local florist (Her Urban Herbs) and selecting a few floral stems and greens and then coming home and creating mini arrangements for the entire house. The bud vase is the perfect way to get a splash of color and beauty in an affordable way.
In this workshop, we'll start with creating a floral arrangement in a gorgeous, locally hand made bud vase. I'll share my tips on arrangement styles, flower selection and general composition. We will then move on to using our floral "still life" as an inspiration for a painting or a card. You will learn the basics of watercolor painting and exploration of your tools - paints, water, and paintbrush - is encouraged. I will provide watercolor supplies for the duration of the workshop - if you have your own paints, feel free to bring those.
Designed for the modern creative, this workshop is meant to inspire creative joy - the process of creating is just as important (and maybe more fun!) than the actual output.
All supplies will be included for this workshop. You will go home with:
1 bud vase
Fresh flowers by Her Urban Herbs - flowers will be in season and will vary from those pictured; guaranteed to be beautiful!
